Maria Kosa is a renowned Viennese flutist, experienced pedagogue, and cultural manager.
As director of the International Music Academy and board member of the Austrian Flute Society as well as secretary of the European Flute Council, she is passionate about forging new pedagogical alliances, developing, and refining pedagogical methods and creating connections between different flute players, fuelled by her continuous work as a pedagogue and her involvement in various international events. Her commitment to the latest developments in the flute world and her contributions to the music community make her a prominent figure in the field.
Maria graduated in Vienna and has had the privilege of participating in masterclasses with many of the world's leading flutists, including Auréle Nicolet, Emmanuel Pahud, Sir James Galway, Paul Edmund Davies, Wissam Boustany, Carin Levine and Ian Clarke. Her unique training and dedication to her craft are evident in her pedagogical and artistic work.
Maria is fluent in several languages and has shared her experience at a wide variety of events including festivals, competitions, masterclasses, workshops, lectures, concerts, and panel discussions. Her focus is both on the promotion of the younger generation as well as adult education.
